The news cards were clickable, but only the news index appeared in the sitemap. Search crawlers could discover detail pages by following links, yet the site was sending an incomplete inventory of its own content.
The sitemap now loads the same news source used by the page and emits one URL for every article. Publication dates become each entry's last-modified signal, and malformed dates fall back safely during generation.
This is a small technical correction with a useful rule behind it: readers, navigation, and indexing should all see the same content set. A page should not be public in one system and absent from another without a deliberate reason.
