Choosing the Right Chart Style
Not sure which chart to use? Here's a quick guide.
Comparison Data → Bar / Column Charts
Use Vertical Bar or Horizontal Bar when comparing values across categories. Vertical bars work best with fewer categories; horizontal bars handle longer labels well.
Trends → Line / Area Charts
Use Line or Area charts to show changes over time or across a continuous range.
Proportions → Pie / Doughnut
Use Pie or Doughnut charts when showing parts of a whole. Limit to 5–7 slices for readability.
Multi-dimensional → Radar
Radar charts are perfect for comparing multiple variables at once — ideal for skill profiles or product comparisons.
Correlations → Scatter
Use Scatter charts to visualize relationships between two numerical variables.
Funnel Analysis → Funnel
Funnel charts show progressive stages — ideal for conversion rates, sales pipelines, or drop-off analysis.
Composition → Stacked Bar
Stacked Bar charts reveal part-to-whole relationships across categories.
Mixed Metrics → Composed
